The Cardinal Hill Swim Team is a member of the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL), which was founded in 1956 to sponsor competitive swimming and diving among community pools. The NVSL is the largest summer league in the United States with over 10,000 children participating. The NVSL comprises 104 teams divided into 18 divisions.
For the 2010 season, Cardinal Hill is in Division 4 and will compete with South Run, Sully Station, Mansion House, and Sideburn Run
The Cardinal Hill Swim Team provides all team members, regardless of ability or previous experience, the opportunity to develop swimming skills and a strong sense of personal achievement. Summer swimming provides a unique opportunity for children, covering a wide range of ages, to participate as team members and contribute to the team's overall success. Swimmers will learn good sportsmanship, make new friends, and most of all - HAVE FUN! Team members will participate in many activities including swim meets, relay carnivals, and social events such as pep rallies, movies, outings, pasta dinners, and much more.
Eligibility
All dependents of Cardinal Hill Swim and Racquet Club members and approved users who meet the following age and ability requirements are eligible and encouraged to try out for the swim team. A swimmer MUST be between the ages of six and eighteen, be able to swim across the pool without stopping (25 meters), tread water for one full minute, and float on his/her back for one full minute in order to make the team.
